#141 Sweater Weather - Flying Reindeer card

Hi everyone! Christmas is almost here! Yikes! I have been super busy with cards, shopping and other holiday preparations that my blog is continuing to be neglected! I'm getting really excited though and so are my little ones!

Here is a Christmas card I created using the Sweater Weather Cricut cartridge along with the Santa's Village Imagine cartridge! Love them both!

A new thing for me this year was decorating the inside of my cards to coordinate with the the front of the card. I have seen a few bloggers doing this and really like the look of it!

The reindeer and the hearts on the border are both from Sweater Weather. The patterns and the Flying Reindeer label are from Santa's Village. Sorry, I don't recall which cartridge the scalloped oval comes from, but you can find them on many of the cartridges :-)

Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of Christmas - Day 7 and 8 (#140 Paper Lace)

Hi everyone! Today I have a couple more tags finished from Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of Christmas, an even that is taking place now on his blog.

Here is my version of tag 7:

I used the Jubilee Cricut cartridge to make the holly leaves because I don't have Tim's die for that.

And tag 8:

For this one, I didn't own any of the stamps that he used, so I sorted through my stash to find some that would suit the tag. I am happy with the results!
For the gears, I used the Paper Lace II and the Robot Party cartridges. I think this may have been my favorite tag to make so far!

Hope you like the two tags, I can't believe there are only 4 left! Then I will have to get back to my regular Christmas crafting. Nope, I haven't even made my Christmas cards yet! So many projects, too little time - same thing every year!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of Christmas - Day 6

Hi everyone! I have another tag to show you following the instructions for tag number 6 on Tim Holtz's blog. If you would like to follow along as well, click HERE to head over to his blog.

Here is my tag:

This tag was totally out of my usual comfort zone, I have never really worked with metal in my crafting, other than charms, but it was still a lot of fun. AND it turned out much better than I thought it would LOL

I used the Season's Greetings cuttlebug embossing folder. The metal was painted with acrylic paints, sanded, inked, then embossed with clear embossing powder. Really cool technique!

Hope you like it!

#139 Mickey Font - Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Birthday

Hi everyone! My son's 2nd birthday was at the end of November and I just realized I forgot to show you the Mickey Mouse cake and banner I made for him!
Jacob LOVES Mickey Mouse Clubhouse so I just had to make him a cake featuring his favorite characters. With a little guidance from Google, I look at different cakes online and came up with this Clubhouse cake:

I used my Cricut cake to cut out the Mickey head, the clouds, stars, JACOB, and 2. I don't recall which cartridge the clouds were from, but I do know everything else was from Mickey Font, of course! My sister Leila was here to help me, so I need to give her some credit! She rolled the balls and made those adorable bees.
I also created this "Happy Birthday" banner using the Mickey and Friends cartridge along with the Mickey Font cartridge:
The banner flags were cut from Birthday Bash, which is my go-to cartridge for banners! There are quite a few different ones on there!

Well, thanks for stopping by and hope you like my projects!

Lots of Cookies Christmas Card

Hi everyone! Last night I finished up a Christmas card for the latest Peachy Keen Challenge. The challenge this time was to follow this sketch:

Here is my project:
I used one of the gingerbread images from "Too sweet to eat" and coloured him with my copic markers.

The sentiment says "May Your Holidays be Filled with" on the front and "Lots and Lots of Cookies" on the inside.

Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of Christmas - Day 5

Hi everyone! Here is my second post of the day. I finished up the fifth tag for the 12 Tags of Christmas late last night. And here it is:

To see Tim's tag and the instructions, please visit his blog HERE
This tag was fun to make and pretty quick and easy! This resist technique was something I have never tried before. I didn't have any of his reflections stamps because I had no clue what to do with them. I remember seeing them at my local scrapbooking store and wanting them, then seeing that they were backwards and putting them back :-) Now, after watching Tim's video, I understand their purpose and he showed some fun things you can do with them. They have definitely made it to my new wishlist!
Anyway, since I don't have any of the reflections stamps yet, I chose a patterned background stamp by Stampin' Up.
I also didn't have the Regal Crest die that he used for his wreath, so I cut one from the Holiday Cakes Cricut cartridge.
Hope you like it!

Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of Christmas - Day 4

Hi everyone! I have a few posts for you this evening! I finished up the fourth tag in the Tim Holtz series yesterday morning, but didn't get a chance to make a blog post until now!

Here it is:

Again, there were certain supplies that I didn't own, but could exchange for what I did have. The acrylic snowflake border along the side of the tag was created on my Gypsy by welding four snowflakes (from Art Philosophy and Don Juan) to a rectangle.

I also used different colours of Distress Stain, different stamps on the background and the buttons came from my stash.

Hope you like it!

Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of Christmas - Day 3

Hi everyone! Tonight I recreated Tim Holtz's third tag from his 12 Tags of Christmas. Wow, this man has some serious crafting genius. This ideas he comes up with are truly amazing! Here is my version of his tag:

I didn't have the cut 'n'dry stamp pad felt, mainly because I had seen it in the scrapbooking store and had no idea what it was. After seeing him create a custom stamp pad for his stamp set, which I did already have, I HAD to go out this morning to buy some of the felt. I absolutely LOVED making this tag.

I don't own any of the Perfect Pearls mist (yet, LOL) so instead I misted it with Cactus Gold Glitz Spritz by Lindy's Stamp Gang. There is soooo much pretty shimmer on this tag.

For the festive greenery, I used my Joys of the Season Cricut cartridge, as I did on the first tag.

Hope you like it!

Sophie Blog Hop - #137 Sophie

Hi everyone! Welcome to the Sophie Blog Hop! Sophie is the Cricut cartridge that was given to the Cricut Circle members during the last quarter and we wanted to share some projects that were made using this fabulous cartridge! The Sophie cartridge comes with many features including cards, bookmarks, and doilies. Hop along with us to explore the Sophie cart and gain some inspiration!
If you have arrived here from Scrap Cave Creations, you are in the right place. If you have just happened to stop by my blog, then head over to Michele Green.com to start from the beginning!

For my project, I decided to make a Christmas ornament!

All of the colours and patterns were printed using my Imagine machine.

The tree doily was cut at 3.5".

The circle was cut at 2.5".

The tree was cut at 2".

The snowflake on top was cut at 3" from shrink plastic. I used ink jet Shrinky Dinks and printed the pattern on the Imagine before cutting it out.

For the paper part of the ornament, I cut out two of each design so it would look the same on the back. In between the layers, I put some accordian folded waffle paper by Stampin' Up!.

I then spritzed the entire ornament with Royal Crimson Fire Glitz Spritz by Lindy's Stamp Gang. Unfortunately, the shimmer does not really show up well in my photos :-(

I used Crystal Effects around the circle, then sprinkled Champagne Glass Glitter over, both from Stampin' Up!.

I placed three eyelets on the bottom and one on the top, then added the snowflake and some crystal accents from my bead stash.

Hope you like it!

Your next stop on our hop is Liz's Lavendar and Roses, so head over there to find out what fabulous project she has created!

Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of Christmas - Day 2

Hi everyone! Today I created the second tag from Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of Christmas!

This time I had nearly all of the supplies, so didn't venture much from his design. I didn't have the supplies he used for the wreath around the reindeers neck, so I had to leave that out and used a snowflake charm from my stash rather than the star charm he used on his tag.

Also, when I cut the reindeer using the Reindeer Flight die, I must have put the sticky back canvas on upside down because our reindeer are facing the opposite way. Mine must had found something else to look at :-)

You can check his tag and tutorial here.

Hope you like my version, and thanks for stopping by!

Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of Christmas - Day 1

Hi everyone! Today was the first day of Tim Holtz's 12 Days of Christmas. Each day on this blog, he will be creating a different tag complete with instructions and videos! This is the fifth year that he has done this, but it will be my first year also completing the tags. I'm so excited!

I started this first tag at around 10:00 this morning and with a few breaks in between, finished around 4:00 this afternoon. It was pretty time-consuming but so much fun! Loved trying out the new techniques! To check out Tim's tag and instructions click here

Here is my version:

They are quite similar, but I had to improvise a little to compensate for product that I do not own. For instance, I used a snowflake Cuttlebug folder for the background. I didn't have the Noel die or the festive greenery die, so I used my Cricut and Gypsy to create my own. I used Blackletter for the letters and Joys of the Season for all of the greenery other than the juniper from the Tattered Pinecone die.
This was my first time using the Tattered Pinecone die, and it was so fun to use!
Can't wait to see what Tim comes up with tomorrow (or tonight for the night owls)
