Hello! Card

Hi everyone! Wow - it has been over a week since my last post! The weather has been beautiful here lately and with the kids' sports and school activities I haven't had much time for creation! I have been working on a mini album that I should be able to post in a few days...

I am so excited to find that I have reached 500 followers on my blog! Woo hoo! I will be posting a great giveaway soon. I have ordered a few things and am just waiting on them to arrive! Stay tuned!

Here is a card I whipped up tonight to enter in the challenge this week at Fantabulous Cricut. The challenge was to use the colour blue and a cloud on your project.

I used the Create a Critter cartridge for the bird on the cloud image (cut at 3.25"). The patterns are all printed with my Imagine using the Enjoy the Seasons cartridge.

To make the bird blue, I chalked it with some shimmer chalk. I used my Stampin' Up! markers to add the stitching detail.

For added embellishment, I chose some pink satin ribbon and a little blue bling on the corners.

Hope you like it!

Birthday Bash Blog Hop - #84 Serenade

Hi everyone! Welcome to the Birthday Bash Blog Hop. We are here today to celebrate Lisa's birthday as well as her daughter Becky's! We will showcase some fabulous birthday themed ideas! If you came here from Curls and Grins are are at the right stop! If you have just happened to come to my blog, then you should head to Scrapping with Lisa to start from the beginning! You don't want to miss a thing!

For my card, I decided to size it to fit into a legal size envelope. Using the Serenade Cricut cartridge, I cut the following images:

Bird Cage - cut at 3.75".

Table - cut at 3.75".

Bird - cut at ".

The scalloped background was made using the Elegant Edges cartridge and my Gypsy in order to manipulate the cut so it would fit on my card base. It measures 3.8" wide and 8" high.

The cage was attached to the card using foam squares in order to give it sme dimension.

To embellish the card a bit I added some bling and some white organza ribbon.

Hope you like it!

Wish Big...

Hi everyone! Here is a card I created for the Throwback Thursday challenge this week at My Creative Time. Emma asked us to create a project using the Doodlecharms cartridge and the colour blue.

For my card I chose the cupcake from the Doodlecharms cartridge. A pretty simple card but I like how it turned out!

I added some blue stickles around the icing and some pen detailing along the edges of the candle and cupcake wrapper.

Patterned paper is by Stampin' Up! (background) and DCWV (cupcake wrapper)

The sentiment is from the My Creative Time stamp set "Wow! So Many Candles" that I just received in the mail the other day! Love it Emma! Can't wait to check out your new releases on Friday!

You're Super!

Hi everyone! Here is a card I made for last week's challenge at the Pollycraft Challenge Blog. The challenge this week was "Boyz to Men" to create a masculine card. I do a lot of girly projects and not nearly enough boy themed ones so this was a great challenge for me!

I used a Pink Cat Studio stamp set for the images on this card.

I coloured the image with my Stampin' Up! markers as well as used the same markers to stamp the sentiment and lightning bolts.

The cardstock is also by Stampin' Up!

#82 Locker Talk - A+ Teacher

Hi everyone! Here is a project I created for the Cricut Circle Magazine challenge last month. We were asked to create a project for our teachers using our Cricut machines.

I chose to create this notebook and card set for my daughter's 2nd grade teacher who is a fantastic influence on my daughter's life! All cuts were created using the Locker Talk cartridge.

The apple was cut at 2.5".

A+ was cut at 1.5".

The pencil was cut at 2.75".

The scissors were cut at 1" and welded on the Gypsy.

"Teacher" was separated from an image that was cut at 2.5".

The scissors and pencil rim were run through my Xyron, then sprinkled with silver glitter.

To create the notebook, I used a cereal box for the base, cut at 3" X 5". I covered the cardboard with patterned paper , cut some lined binder filler paper to the same size and bound it all together with my Bind-It-All. I then added three different types of fibers to the metal coil rings.

Hope you like it!

Hi everyone! The lastest weekly challenge on the Cricut Circle Blog was to create a gift card using the Cricut. My brother's birthday is coming up soon and I usually get him gift cards because he is so hard to buy for. I thought a Canadian Tire card would be a good choice this year so decided to use my Handyman Lite cartridge for the first time on this project!

The cartridges / cuts used are:

Gift Card - Cindy Loo (cut at 8")

Tool Box - Handy Man (cut at 2.25")

"Brother" - Base Camp (cut at 1")

Me in My Space and Blog Hop Winner!

Hi everyone! Hope you're having a great week so far! So sorry, I completely forgot to post my winner from the Flowers, Flowers Everywhere Blog Hop! It's funny - I used Random.Org to choose a winner and it came up Leila Botting - who just happens to be my sister LOL. After contacting her, we decided to choose another name - she already has the Cherry Blossom cover for her Gypsy :-) and wants it to go to someone else who will love it! Thanks Leila!

Soooooo, the new winner of the Gypsy starter kit is.......

Michelle - I will be messaging you shortly to get your details! Congrats!

This week on the Cricut Circle Blog they asked us to take a photo of ourselves in our scrap space in order to win some FABULOUS prizes! Here I am:

Me in my Cricut corner - where on earth am I going to put that e2 I have been trying to get? Trying and not succeeding, how many contests must I enter? Being in Canada, we couldn't order them from HSN, so I was thrilled when they showed up on Cricut.com - unfortunately the shipping cost is way too high to Canada and I can't justify the cost - yet.....I really want those cartridges on the anniversary edition - they look wonderful! I even tried to sweet talk someone in customer service to give me free shipping - with no success - sigh......LOL

Have a great night everyone!

#79 H2O - MPS NSD Challenge #8

Hi everyone! Here is my last entry for tonight in the My Pink Stamper National Scrapbook Day challenges! Eight down, four more to finish tomorrow! I'll try my best to get them finished by the deadline - unfortunately I have two sick babies who are needing a ton of attention during the day! We'll see how it goes - maybe during nap time!

Challenge #8 - Make a summer themed project.

For my project, I decided to make a summer layout of my kids running through the sprinkler on one of the hottest days of the summer last year.

I LOVED making this layout - it was the first time I have used the H2O cartridge, which I have had for months now. So glad I have it, loved putting together the images and the sayings on the cartridge are perfect for layouts like this.

The sun was cut at 3".

The boy on the slide was cut at 3.5".

The girl was cut at 3.5".

The sprinkler was cut at 1.25".

"Running through the sprinkler" was cut at 3.25".

The scalloped rectangle and square were from the Sugar and Spice cartridge, but I manipulated the sizing with my Gypsy to fit where I wanted them.

Flowers, Flowers Everywhere Blog Hop - Day 2

Hi everyone! Happy Mother's Day! Welcome back to Day 2 of the Flowers, Flowers Everywhere Blog Hop! If you have arrived here from A Scrapping Time, you are in the right place. If you have just happened to stop by my blog, please head over to Creations with Kathryn to start from the beginning! We have a ton more great projects to show you today and you don't want to miss out!

For my project today I created a pot of paper flowers for Mother's Day! Ok it is a present for myself but I love it just the same. I used the Mother's Day Bouquet Cricut cartridge to create the flowers and leaves and the Walk in My Garden cartridge for the bumblebees.

All paper used is white cardstock. I used the Imagine and the Blossom patterns cartridge to print all of the colours and patterns used on my project.

Each flower has three layers - one at 3", one at 2.5" and one at 2". The layers were attached together at the center with an epoxy brad. All flower and leaf pieces were inked along the edges.

The leaves are all embossed with the Victoria Cuttlebug folder.

I created the stems by wrapping wire with green painter's tape. The flowers and leaves were attached with a hot glue gun.

I created two tiny bumblebees (0.75") and attached them to their flowers with a thin wire.

There is a larger bumblebee (2")attached to the front of the pail.

Hope you like it! Don't forget, I am still giving away the Cherry Blossom Gypsy Starter Kit, so leave a comment on this post for a chance to win! If you missed yesterday's post, click HERE to see that post and leave a comment there as well for another chance!

Next up on the blog hop is lovescrapreflect. Head over there to see what wonderful project she has to show you today!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and thanks for joining us on the Flowers, Flowers Everywhere Blog Hop!

The gloves were cut at 2.5"

I used one of the 5X7 folders from the Freshly Picked Cuttlebug Companion folders for the pink background, then zig-zag stitched aroung the edges.

The sentiment is from the My Pink Stamper "Fruit and Veggie Puns" stamp set.
