Eerie Halloween card

Hi everyone! Tonight I have been working on a Halloween card using the Happy Hauntings cartridge. The patterned paper is from a Martha Stewart Halloween paper pack. The embossed background was made using a Tim Holtz embossing folder. I rubbed a black ink pad over the embossed image. This card was created for a challenge at Erin Lee Creative where the theme was Halloween!

Thanks for looking and hope you enjoyed your visit to my blog!

Jenae's Back to School layout

Hello! The challenge this week at Children's Challenge Corner was to create a project with a back to school theme. Jenae chose to do a 6X6 layout for her scrapbook with a photo of her in her favorite back to school outfit from last year. She got to use her Mommy's cricut again, with help of course:-) She did choose all the colours and glue the pieces together. The cartridge used was Hello Kitty. Hope you like it!

Princess Tinkerbell layout

Hi everyone! Today I have been working on a layout that I have been putting off for a while. The challenge at My Creative Time this week was to make a project with a princess theme using the Tinkerbell & Friends cartridge. I bought this cartridge when it first came out and have only used it once to make a test cut that didn't turn out very nice. These fairies are so detailed that it is difficult to piece them together so I have been putting off scrapbooking the layout of Jenae's Halloween costume last year. This challenge forced me to give the cartridge another try!

I decided I need to make Tinkerbell fairly large to save me from a headache today so I cut her out at 5". Her wings were white paper that I sprayed with Glacier Glimmer Mist before cutting out. You can't really tell by the photo but they are very shimmery! I love how she turned out! The font I used for the "Princess Tink" title was from Cindy Loo and the mat for the title was cut from Storybook. That mat was also white paper sprayed with the same glimmer mist. I used Icicle Stickles on the letters.

Hope you like my layout! I'm really glad I got it done! Thanks for the challenge Emma!

Jenae's Mermaid Card

Hi everyone! Here is a card my daughter Jenae created for some challenges over at Kona Kid Krafter's and Little Hands Do Crafts . The theme this week at both was "Anything Goes" so she went through my stamp stash and chose this Lily at the Beach stamp by Pink Cat Studio. She coloured it with her new markers that her Auntie Melanie gave her since Jenae is always wishing she could use my copics. Hope you like it! If you have the time, please leave Jenae a comment - she loves to read them!

Baby Bottle Card

Hi everyone! Here is a card I just finished tonight - a baby girl card! For this card, I used my Gypsy to create a window with patterned vellum over top. The cartridges I used were Gypsy Wanderings for the baby bottle, Gypsy Font for the "baby girl!" George and Basic Shapes for the card outline (resized with G) and Ashlyn's Alphabet for the frame. I used the hide contour feature on the Gypsy to cut out the oval from the frame in the card and to just cut the scalloped part on the vellum.

I am entering my card in the challenge at Made By Momo. This week the theme was "Babies, and Diapers, and Onesies, Oh My!"

Hope you like it!

A Fishing Layout

Hi everyone! I did a scrapbook page today! The challenge at Fantabulous Cricut this week was to create a project with the theme "The Great Outdoors". I have had these photos of my hubby's fishing trips to the river waiting to be scrapbooked for 5 years and thought this would be the perfect opportunity. I used the Camp Out cartridge for the fish, rod and net. I used Alphalicious (the Short Stack feature) for the lettering. The patterned paper I used is by Scrapworks from the Magpie collection.

Guess what else I used to make this layout?!? My new Pink ATG gun!!! I LOVE it! I had never used one before and don't think I could ever go back, plus just thinking of how much money I am going to save on adhesive now is super exciting as well!

Anyway, hope you like my scrapbook page! I'll be back soon with more challenge projects so please visit again!

You're an Angel card

Hello everyone! Tonight I created a card for the Throwback Thursday challenge at My Creative Time The challenge this week is called "Frame It" and we are to use the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge.
I decided to make a window card with the cute angel. All cuts are from the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge, except for the actual card which was created on my Gypsy with George and Basic Shapes.
The cloud and stars were made on white cardstock using the Cricut markers first, then cutting. I then coloured in the yellow stars. The garland at the top was five pieces from the Accessories 3 shift feature welded together.
I used my Princess Face Assortment stamps by Peachy Keen for the face on my sweet angel. The "You're an Angel" was stamped using the Tiny Typewriter alphabet set by CTMH.

Hope you like it! Have a great weekend everyone!

It's Your Bird-Day card!

Hi! Here is a card put together this evening using the Cindy Loo cartridge. I just love this doily cut and thought it would look really cute put together as a card. I used my Gypsy to create the card shape. I cut out an extra bird and used a pop dot to stick it on top of the other one. The hearts are from Gypsy Font and I can not remember which cartridge the flowers are from and I have deleted the file from my G! I used my new I-Rock tool and gems for the bling. What a cool tool!!!! Or should I say HOT tool? Either way, I love it! It "It's your bird-day" sentiment is from My Pink Stamper's "Punnylicious" stamp set.
I am entering it in this week's Cricut Cardz challenge where the task was to create any card.

Hope you like it!

My New Cricut Cartridge Storage System

Hi everyone! I haven't got much crafting done lately, I have been organizing my Cricut cartridges! I ran out of room on my shelf and keep buying more so I figured it was time for a change. I found a lot of great tips on the Cricut messageboard and on youtube. I decided to remove all of the books, overlays and cartridges from their packaging and store them using a file system. It was a lot of work! I bought some Iris plastic stacking drawers from Bed Bath and Beyond. I couldn't believe how perfect the dimensions of the drawers were! To make the file folders I scanned the back of each cartridge box and resized it in Microsoft Word to fit. I made the green tabs with the From My Kitchen cartridge. Once I had the folders together I laminated them with my YourStory machine. I decided to make little boxes for my cartridges to protect them. I used a bag cut from Once Upon a Princess and altered it with my Gypsy to fit.

I think I am really going to like this new system - it just seems so much easier to find the cartridge I want! I have put all of the cartridge boxes in a large rubbermaid in the storage room so they are there in case I ever change my mind. I tend to do that once in a while ;-)

Back to School Layout - Paisley

Hi everyone! Wow, I am up late scrapping AGAIN!!! I really need to start getting to bed earlier, the kids don't care if I stayed up late when they are up at 7:00 demanding breakfast! It's starting to catch up with me!
At My Creative Time, Emma challenged us to use our Paisley cartridge to create a project in a Back to School theme. Paisley is one of my very favorites! I decided to make a layout of Jenae's back to school outfits from last year. I remember how excited she was going into Grade 1 choosing all her new clothes, and telling me how cool they were. She wanted me to take a picture of every outfit. I chose her favorite three for this layout.
All cuts are from the Paisley cartridge - I just LOVE those outfit cuts! So adorable! The patterned paper is by Imaginesce. Hope you like it!

This card will be entered in two challenges this week:

Lipstick Card

Hi! Here is a card I created for the challenge this week at the Cricut Cardz challenge blog. The challenge this week was to create a teen birthday card. I used Slumber Party, which is one of the Cricut Lite cartridges that a member from the cricut messageboards was nice enough to pick up for me since in Canada we only have 4 of the 24 cartridges in our Walmarts. I LOVE these cartridges - they are so easy to use. I just love how the layering all fit together! Hope you like it!

It was my first time using the cartridge and I like it a lot! For the lettering I used Stone Script Solutions. All of the patterned papers are from the Capella line by Basic Grey.
