Cricut Circle Canadian Swarm 2012 - Challenge #3

Hi everyone! This weekend on the Canadian chat portion of the Cricut Circle message board, we are hosting an online swarm, complete with challenges, prizes, and even a treat bag swap! So much fun! And we are also welcoming anyone to participate, not just Canadians! So if you are Cricut circle member be sure to stop by and hang out with us!
Since I am donating one of the prizes,I have come up with a fun challenge! Today is my husband's birthday so since I was assigned today, what other theme could I use ;-)
My challenge is to create a birthday card following this sketch:

Of course you must use at least one Cricut cut on your project.

My husband is an avid hunter so I decided to go with a wildlife theme.  Here is what I came up with:
The cartridges/cuts I used are:
Wildlife - Deer cut at 2.25"
Art Philosophy - label cut at 0.66"

The patterned paper if from Autumn Splendor by DCWV.
The sentiment stamp is by My Creative Time.
Cardstock is DCWV and Core-dinations

Hope you like it!

#51 Wildlife - Deer Hunt

Hi everyone! The weekly challenge at the Cricut Circle blog this week was a "Guy Stuff Challenge".
The Challenge: Incorporate at least three of the following types of materials on your project. (Hardware items, stars, raw cardboard or chipboard, twine, string, paint, buttons, staples, or distressed edges)

I rarely do masculine layouts. They always seem to be the last in line when I am chosing which projects to do, so this was a really good challenge for me! I chose to do a layout of my hubby's deer hunting.

The cartridges/cuts I used are:
Wildlife - Deer cut at 3 3/4" and title cut at 4"
Give A Hoot - leaf charm cut at 2"

For the challenge items I used staples to attach the twine, raw cardboard for the top layer of the charm, buttons as accents, and used ink to distress the edges of the deer cut.

Cardstock - CTMH
Patterned Paper - Creative Memories
Linen Thread/Marker - Stampin' Up!
Buttons/Twine - Unknown

Hope you like it!

Dad's Birthday Card

Hi everyone! Tonight I finished up a card for my Dad's birthday which is on Thursday. I created this card for the weekly challenge on the Cricut Circle Blog. The challenge was to use the colours grey, orange, tan and burgundy on our projects, as well as add texture and at least two cricut cuts. The cartridges I used are Wildlife (deer), Straight From the Nest (leaves) and Cuttin' Up (DAD). I used one of the Cindy Loo embossing folders for the leaves. The leaves on the background were stamped with orange pigment ink using the Nature's Vein set by CTMH. The leaf veins were stamped with Versamark and embossed with some Tim Holtz distress embossing powder.

Hope you like my creation! Thanks for stopping by!
