Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of Christmas - Day 1

Hi everyone! Today was the first day of Tim Holtz's 12 Days of Christmas. Each day on this blog, he will be creating a different tag complete with instructions and videos! This is the fifth year that he has done this, but it will be my first year also completing the tags. I'm so excited!

I started this first tag at around 10:00 this morning and with a few breaks in between, finished around 4:00 this afternoon. It was pretty time-consuming but so much fun! Loved trying out the new techniques! To check out Tim's tag and instructions click here

Here is my version:

They are quite similar, but I had to improvise a little to compensate for product that I do not own. For instance, I used a snowflake Cuttlebug folder for the background. I didn't have the Noel die or the festive greenery die, so I used my Cricut and Gypsy to create my own. I used Blackletter for the letters and Joys of the Season for all of the greenery other than the juniper from the Tattered Pinecone die.
This was my first time using the Tattered Pinecone die, and it was so fun to use!
Can't wait to see what Tim comes up with tomorrow (or tonight for the night owls)

#96 Blackletter - More Pirate Party Decor

Hi everyone! Yesterday, my son had his 4th birthday party. He had such a great time! I thought I would show you the banner and birthday cake I made for his party.

The cake was so fun to decorate!

The letters were cut from fondant and the ship was cut from gum paste using the Cricut Cake machine. The ship was cut at 5.5" from Wrap it Up and the letters were cut at 2" from Blackletter. The skulls were made using molds and Wilton candy melts.

For the banner, I used the Imagine with the Buccaneer cartridge to create the 4.25" pennants (from Birthday Bash). The letters were cut at 3.39" from the Blackletter cartridge ( the PERFECT pirate font! :-)). I sized the letters on my Gypsy for the uppercase letters to fit perfectly. The four images between the words are from the Buccaneer cartridge. Each pennant was attached using twine.

Hope you like my projects!

#29 Paper Doll Dress Up - Ahoy Matey!

Hi everyone! Here is a layout I created for the Throwback Thursday challenge at My Creative Time. Emma asked us to create a project using one of the Paper Dolls Cricut cartridges and to use embossing somewhere on it.
I chose to use Paper Doll Dress Up for the dolls and the ship.
I embossed their shirts and head wear with the cuttlebug.

I also used the Blackletter Solutions cartridge, which was one of the free Gypsy downloads. I never had any desire or intention to buy this cartridge but WOW - it turns out I love the font LOL I think it works perfectly for a pirate theme. The banner is also from Blackletter and I embossed it as well.
The face stamps are from the Peachy Keen Stamps Basic Paper Doll Assortment.

Hope you like it!
