#45 Paisley - Love Ya Imagine Card

Hi everyone! Hope you are all having a great weekend! Sickness has stuck our household full force - I've got two kids in bed, one kid quietly colouring and a hubby on the couch. I'd like to be crafting since it's so quiet but I just might join one of the kids for a nap!

But first, here is a card I finished up last night for the latest Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge. The cartridge of choice this week was Paisley - one of my very favorites! The images on this cartridge are so cute and cheerful! I chose to pair the Paisley cartridge up with the Blast Off Imagine cartridge and love how bright and fun the card turned out!

The puppy was cut at 2 1/2", "love ya" was cut at 1"

The background image is from the Blast Off cartridge and was cut at 4".

All colours and patterns are from Blast Off.

Hope you like it!

#44 Four Legged Friends - My BFF

Hi everyone! Here is a layout I made for the Cricut Circle Blog's weekly challenge. The theme this week was pets and I have a ton of pictures to scrapbook featuring our family's furry friend Parker the Yorkie. He is 2 1/2 years old and we've had him since he was 8 weeks old. He caused me a ton of frustration in the beginning LOL but we get along just fine now :-) He's definitely part of our family and the kids just adore him!

For this layout I used the following cartridges:

Four Legged Friends Lite - Yorkie (cut at 4") Paw print (cut at 3").

Alphalicious - Title (cut at 2 1/2")

Other Products

Patterned paper and stickers - Little Yellow Bicycle

Cardstock - Bazzill Basics

Border Punch (paw prints) - EK Success

Glitter - Martha Stewart Crafts

The farm animal border punch is by Martha Stewart.
Twine, marker, ink and cardstock is by Stampin' Up!
Patterned paper by Chatterbox

Hi everyone! Hope you had a great long weekend! I spent the weekend scrapbooking with my sisters and my mom at my sister Leila's house! Here is a card I created for the latest Wacky Wednesday challenge at More than Favors. The theme for the challenge was Weddings so I decided to look through my wedding themed cartridges for some ideas.

The cartridges/cuts I used were:

Tie the Knot - Mr. & Mrs. (cut at 1 3/4")

Love You Card - Sugar and Spice

Hi everyone! Here is a card I created for the challenge this week at the Cricut Circle Blog. The task was to create a love note for someone you adore. It had to have a heart somewhere on it as well as some Cuttlebug embossing.

I chose to make a 5"X7" card and used the large vine frame folder from the Wall Decor & More Cuttlebug companion set to emboss the front cover of the card. I sponged green ink over the embossed image. The little flower pots were also embossed with the Mosaic Texture folder.

The cartridge I used was Sugar & Spice:
Scalloped oval - 6 3/4"
Birds and layers (flower pots, wings, and heart) - 3"
Love You - This was meant to be 3" as it was one of the layers from the bird image, but my Cricut didn't like cutting the letters that small so I had to increase the size to 5".

Hope you like it!

#40 Wild Card - It's Your Day

Hi everyone! Here is a card I made for Emma's Throwback Thursday challenge at My Creative Time. We were asked to used either the Wild Card cartridge or the Just Because Cards cartridge and to include a stamped sentiment on our project. Since I used Just Because cards a couple weeks ago ( it was #24 on my cartridge list), I decided to give Wild Card a try!
I made my card and envelope at 5 1/2". In the handbook illustration, the card I chose used a heart around the circle cut-out but there were two other options to choose from - a sun or a swirly circle. I chose the sun.

The bird on the branch image is also from the Wild Card cartridge and comes from the frame feature of a different card. I flipped it so the bird would be facing the outside of the card.

The face stamp is by Peachy Keen Stamps from the Happy Lashes Face Assortment.

The other stamps are by Studio G (the dollar stamps at Michaels)

Hope you like it!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Here are some Valentine's Day cards I made with my Imagine! One is for my son's teacher and the other three were for my kids.
They were all made using the Better Together cartridge, except for the kitty one, which is from the Best Friends cartridge.
I am entering these cards in the Wacky Wednesday challenge at More than Favors where the challenge was to create anything for Valentine's Day.
Hope you like them and have a wonderful day with your Sweetie!

#39 Country Life - Baby Quilt Layout

Hi everyone! Here is a layout I created today with my Imagine! I am totally in love with this machine everyone - WOW!!!

For the Cricut Chaos Challenge last week, the task was to create a project with the Country Life Cricut cartridge.

Looking through the cartridge handbook, I decided on the quilt block cut from that cartridge. My mom made baby quilts for all three of my kids, they are such wonderful keepsakes and I took photos of them all as newborns on their quilts. I haven't scrapbooked Jacob's yet, so that is who this layout will be for.

I used my Imagine for all of the patterns and cuts on this layout. All of the patterns are from the Nursery Tales cartridge. The cuts I used are:

Country Life - Quilt Block (cut at 5"), Banner title (cut at 2.2")

Nursery Tales - Photo Mat ( cut at 4.5"), Sweet Dreams (cut at 2"), Journaling Spot (cut at 3.5"), Squirrel (cut at 3"), Frog (cut at 3")

Hope you like it!

#38 Holiday Cakes - Valentine's Day Cake!

Hi everyone! Here is a cake that I whipped up today and decorated with my Cricut Cake.
I made a 9" double layer chocolate cake with buttercream icing. The decorations are cut from Wilton fondant. I used the Holiday Cakes cartridge for this cake. The elephant was cut at 4 1/2" and the letters in "Be Mine" were cut at 1 3/4".

Thanks for stopping by - hope you like it!

#37 Don Juan - Be My Valentine Banner

Hi everyone! Here is my Valentine's Day banner have been working on the last couple days! I LOVE how it turned out!

I picked up the Teresa Collins "Timeless" line to create it with - such beautiful papers. I just love her stuff!

I created this banner for the monthly challenge at the Cricut Circle blog where the task was to create a banner with any theme using at least 3 Cricut cuts.

The cartridges/cuts I used are:
Sugar & Spice - Banner pieces cut at 5 1/4" from Black cardstock
Home Decor - Hearts cut at 3 1/4" from Light Pink cardstock
Don Juan - "Be My Valentine" cut at 2" in patterned paper (both regular and shadow font)
For the strip of paper along the top, I used my Gypsy to drag the banner image to the bottom of the mat until only the top part was showing, then pressed cut.
I added a row of stitching between the pink pattern strip layer and the black cardstock.
For the accordian fold circles, I cut patterned paper to 1 3/4 X 10 1/4", then trimmed along one long edge with decorative scissors. The paper strip was scored at every 1/4" and folded back and forth like and accordian, attached at the ends and brought down into a flat circle. If you've never seen or made them before, and would like more detailed instructions, check out youtube, just type in "accordian flower".
The hearts were sprayed with Tattered Rose Glimmer Mist and attached to the accordian circles.
The letters were then glued to the hearts.
The pieces are all strung together with satin ribbon.

Patterned Paper - Teresa Collins
Cardstock - Bazzill Basics
Flowers - Teresa Collins

Can't wait to make another banner! This one was a lot of fun!
Hope you like it!

#36 Walk in My Garden - Thanks a Bunch

Hi everyone! Here is a quick card I created for the Cricut Circle weekly challenge. The challenge was to create a project using three of the same cut and using a spray mist somewhere.
I chose to make a thank you card using the Walk in My Garden cartridge. I cut three flowers at 3 1/4".
"Thanks a Bunch" was cut at 3/4" and welded together on my Gypsy and attached to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals to make it "Pop" at bit.
The background fancy square is from Lacy Labels and is cut at 4"
I used Lemon Meringue Glimmer Mist for the square and Tutti Fruitti Glimmer Mist for the card base.
Hope you like it!

#35 Love Struck 2010 - Valentine Mailbox

Hi everyone! Hope you're enjoying your week so far! I'm hoping to get lots of crafting done this weekend - I have a ton of projects planned! I'm in a blog hop next weekend (Feb. 19th) at Joys Life.Com to celebrate her birthday and really want to get my project done a few days in advance! I'm also planning to create a Valentine's Day banner with my daughter to enter in the monthly challenge at the Cricut Circle blog. We also need to create 20 Valentines for her classmates and 8 more for my son's little friends. Lots of crafting fun ahead so stay tuned!

Here is a little mailbox I created for my son for his Valentine's Day cards. I will be making two more, likely with different designs for my other two children. I am entering this in the challenge at Crafting with Cristina where the task was to create a Valentine's Day themed project that was not a card.

The cartridges I used are:

Love Struck 2010

- mailbox cut at 11 1/2"

- "sweetie" cut at 1 1/4"

- hearts border on the side cut at 4 1/2"

New Arrival

- frog cut at 2 1/4"

It still amazes me how I'm always discovering cuts on cartridges that I never knew existed. I had no idea that there was a mailbox cut on the Love Struck cartridge - love it!

Hope you like it!

#34 Cupcake Wrappers - Valentine's Cupcakes

Hi everyone! The Cricut Circle Magazine has a challenge every month for circle members. This month the challenge was to create a Valentine's project including something edible in the design. I love making, decorating (and eating) cupcakes and had yet to use my Cupcake Wrappers cartridge so that was the project I chose. I also created a heart shaped cover that will fit 6 cupcakes under it.

The cartridges I used are:

Cupcake Wrappers - four different all cut at 2"

Love Struck 2010 - Heart shaped toppers cut at 1 1/2"
- Fancy heart used for box top - cut at 11 1/4" (I had to use a 12"X24" cutting mat)

To create the box, I cut a large heart from chipboard, covered it and attached it to the bottom of the fancy heart. I then hot glued two strips of cardstock around the edge to make the sides. The strips were 6"X15" inches.
The prize they are giving away this month is a Cricut Cake Mini - perfect size for cupcake decorations!
Hope you like my project and thanks for stopping by!

Think Spring Blog Hop - #31 Old West

Hi everyone! Welcome to the Think Spring Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from The Crafty Creation Spot. If not, please go to Creations With Kathryn to start from the beginning. You don't want to miss anything!

I have two projects to show you today - one card and one layout!
My card is a pop-up card. This is what it looks like when it is folded. I fits into a standard A2 size envelope.

Here is what it looks like when it is set up - the base just slides down and VOILA!

The flower and butterfly stamps are by CTMH from the stamp set "Love in Bloom".

The sentiment is by My Pink Stamper from "Fruit and Veggie Puns".

I coloured in the images with my Copic markers.

My card was created from a video tutorial by Dawn on YouTube. If you would like to watch this tutorial click HERE. She has a ton of great other videos too!

For my second project, I created a layout using my Imagine machine. Growing up on a cattle farm, one of my favorite things about spring is the baby calves being born! They are soooooo cute! I had some pictures still unscrapped from when my daughter was 18 months old and having her first interaction with the babies on Grandma and Grandpa's farm. I know it looks like winter in these pictures but it was actually April - really... LOL

I used the Blossom Imagine Pattern cartridge in combination with the following regular Cricut cartridges:
Old West - Title letters and hay bale
Create a Critter - Calf
Sugar and Spice - Scalloped border
George and Basic Shapes - Large shape behind title

Hope you like my projects!

Now, I have a prize to give away to a lucky commenter! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post and I would love it if you would also follow my blog! You can win this Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge! I will use Random.Org to choose a winner on Monday. Good luck!

#30 Plantin' Schoolbook - Teacher Valentine

Hi everyone! It was exactly one month ago that I announced my goal to use all of my cartridges at least once each this year. I'm already on #30 so as long as I stay on track, I should be able to do this easily! I have purchased 8 more, won 1 and ordered 2 from Cricut Rewards, so that will put my total at 163 - only 133 to go in 11 months!
Anyway, my project for today is a card that I created for the weekly challenge at the Cricut Circle Blog. The challenge was called "Back to the Basics" which meant we were to use only the cartridge that came with our machine. Since I have more than one machine, I wasn't sure which I would go with and decided to choose my favorite machine, which was my first Expression. I bought my E at Walmart in 2008 and it only came with one cartridge - Plantin' Schoolbook. This is my card with a matching envelope:

Here are the cuts I made from the Plantin' Schoolbook cartridge:
Card - 6"
Envelope - 6"
Apple - 2 3/4"
Hearts - 1"
Scalloped Border - 1/2"
"teacher" - 1 1/4"
Part of the cut design of the card was a border of holes along the edge so I used pink embroidery thread and some red fiber to stitch in the holes.
Hope you like it!
