Happy Hauntings Serving Platter

Hi everyone! For my next project this evening I used this serving platter I picked up at the dollar store and cut out some vinyl with the Happy Hauntings cartridge. This was my first time trying vinyl and I really like how it turned out! It is sooooo easy to use and I am not sure why I was so scared to use it before! I am entering this in the challenge this week at Fantabulous Cricut. The task is to create a project with a Halloween theme.

Hope you like it! Happy Haunting everyone!

Halloween Treat Bags

Hi everyone! I finally got all the treat bags finished for my kids' Halloween parties tomorrow! Last minute, as usual! I used the Mini Monsters cartridge for the monsters and the Songbird cartridge for the part that folds over the bag. I am entering this project in the Circle challenge this week - also last minute :-) The task was to create a Halloween project using at least two Cricut cuts and something transparent.

Hope you like them!

Soccer Team Layout

Hi everyone! Today I have been working on a layout of my daughter's soccer team from 2008. The theme for the challenge this week at My Creative Time is sports and Emma wanted us to use the Sports Mania cartridge. I do not own that one so I am using Soccer instead (for the first time!) I cut out the shirt in the largest size that it would fit on my Gypsy so that I could use it as a frame for the 5X7 team photo. The white you see on the shirt is not actually part of the layout, I just used a scrap piece of paper to cover up the photo since I should not be putting photos of other peoples' children on the internet! I also cut out two players and put them on the shirt sleeves. The "Our Team" is also cut from the Soccer cartridge. The soccer balls are actually part of the patterned paper, I just cut around them with an x-acto knife then slid the t-shirt in the slits.

Hope you like it!

Scrap Queen Magnet Board

Hi everyone! Tonight I finally finished up my monthly challenge project for the Cricut Circle blog! The theme for the month was "Celebrating Creativity". I decided to spruce up the magnet board that I recently hung up in my craft room for hanging up finished layouts.
The cartridges I used were:
Hannah Montana - crown frame
Botanicals - Scrap Queen (welded letters with my Gypsy)
Happily Ever After - Crown magnets
Rock Princess - Skull magnets
Home Accents - Hot pink flower magnets
Some other guidelines we had to follow were:
- Using the shadow feature (I did this on "Scrap Queen" and on the crown magnets.
- Using patterned paper
- Using embellishments to enhance on the of the cuts ( I used lots of bling!)

I was so nervous about cutting magnet that I totally avoided it. I found out it cuts really smoothly! In case you are interested in cutting magnet material, here are the settings I used with a deep cut blade and housing:
Blade depth - 6
Pressure - 5
Multi cut - 3
Another note: if you are interested to know how I made the large flower magnets, there are a ton of tutorials on Youtube. These particular ones were made using the Accent Essentials cartridge. To view Christina's tutorial, click HERE

Hope you like my project! I am really loving how it turned out! Wish me luck!

The ric - rac is made of felt and I found it in my ribbon stash. The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper's "More Punnylicious" stamp set.

Dad's Birthday Card

Hi everyone! Tonight I finished up a card for my Dad's birthday which is on Thursday. I created this card for the weekly challenge on the Cricut Circle Blog. The challenge was to use the colours grey, orange, tan and burgundy on our projects, as well as add texture and at least two cricut cuts. The cartridges I used are Wildlife (deer), Straight From the Nest (leaves) and Cuttin' Up (DAD). I used one of the Cindy Loo embossing folders for the leaves. The leaves on the background were stamped with orange pigment ink using the Nature's Vein set by CTMH. The leaf veins were stamped with Versamark and embossed with some Tim Holtz distress embossing powder.

Hope you like my creation! Thanks for stopping by!

Snowflake Card

Hi everyone! I just finished up this snowflake card to enter in a couple of challenges! To create this card I used two Close to My Heart stamp sets - New Fallen Snow for the two largest snowflakes and Heartfelt Christmas for the little snowflake. I stamped the large snowflake on Colonial White cardstock with Twilight Ink then quickly put the embossing powder on because that ink dries so fast! For the large snowflake I used Snowflake Embossing Tinsel by Personal Stamp Exchange. The medium snowflake was also stamped in Twilight but embossed with Northern Lights Blue Glitter embossing powder by gel-a-tins. The small snowflake was stamped in Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. The embossing powders I used for this card are ancient - I bought them all at a garage sale about 6 years ago - the stuff lasts forever!
All paper used for this card is from the Aspen collection by CTMH.

The challenges I am entering my card in are:

Heart 2 Heart - embossing

Sketch and Stash - Use this sketch:

Hope you like my card! I really like the way it turned out so I think I will make a few more for Christmas cards! Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Fall Wall Layout

Hi everyone! I bought this scrapbook layout frame a few months ago and couldn't think of anything to put in it. Last weekend, it was Thanksgiving in Canada and at my sister's we all took pictures of our children under the tree in their backyard. These are my little hooligans! As I was taking the pictures, I actually thought of this frame and decided that was what I would do with the photo.
I used my newest CTMH paper collection for the background - Olivia.
The cartridges I used are Simply Charmed (scarecrows), Create a Critter (puppy), Wall Decor & More (title), Straight from the Nest (leaves).
The face stamps are by Peachy Keen Stamps. The sets I used are Basic Paper Doll Face Assortment (scarecrows), Critter Faces Medium (puppy), Everyday Character Face Assortment (leaves).

I am entering this project in two challenges:

Fantabulous Cricut - On the Wall

Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge - "Let's Face it Friday" challenge - fall themed home decor item using Peachy Keen face stamps

Hope you like my creation! It is going to look great in our family room!

Barrel of Monkeys Card

Hi everyone! Here is a card I made for Emma's Throwback Thursday challenge at My Creative Time. The theme this week is "animals" and we are supposed to create project with the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge. This is actually the second card I made for this challenge since I do not follow directions well. LOL. Maybe next week the challenge will be using the Paper Doll Dress-Up cartridge with say a Halloween theme? :-)
The patterned paper is by We R Memory Keepers and the two stamps (the sentiment and the stitching) are by Close to My Heart. I thought the monkeys were missing something detail-wise so I brought out the chalks. I think it made them look dirty but I guess they are naughty little monkeys so it's all right :-)
Hope you like it!

Then you will be hopping over to Scrappin' Hard for some more fun!
Now on to my project!

I used a gallery wall frame to make this wall hanging. All patterned paper is from the Martha Stewart "Vampire" mat pad. The ribbon around the outside of the frame is "Celebrate It" brand, purchased at Michaels. It was glued to the frame using Fabri-Tac. I apologize for some of the photos, my camera and lighting were just not cooperating with me! I know there is a lot of detail that you just can't see so I will try to describe my techniques as best I can.

The chandelier was cut in black cardstock from the French Manor cartidge. I inked the entire cut with Versa Mark and embossed it with some vintage photo Tim Holtz distressing powder, then added the jewels with the I-Rock. I used hot glue to attach the chain to the frame.

The word "Spooky" was cut from Tim Holtz Grungepaper with the Happy Hauntings cartridge. I painted over the top layer with brushed pewter Distress Crackle Paint. I added glitter to the background layer.
This chair was cut from French Manor from Grungepaper and painted with
antique linen Distress Crackle Paint. I then inked over it a bit with brown ink to give it an aged look. The pumpkin is cut from Happy Hauntings.

The witch here was cut from the October 31st cartridge . I ran a sheet of white cardstock through my Xyron Creative Station, stuck the witch on the middle then poured yellow glitter over it. I love how evenly the glitter goes on the paper using this technique!
The haunted house was cut from the October 31st Cricut cartridge using Core-dinations cardstock.

The mirror was cut from French Manor with white cardstock then painted over with tarnished brass Distress Crackle Paint. I then inked the edges with black ink. The spooooooky ghost is from Happy Hauntings and cut from vellum.

Creepy was cut with Grungepaper from the Happy Hauntings cartridge and painted with fired brick Distress Crackle Paint.
And lastly, the spider and its web are from Happy Hauntings. I cut the web from grey cardstock then sprayed with Silver Sugar Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels. The spider was covered with black Enamel Accents by Ranger to give make it tougher and give it a glossy tone.

Now for my giveaway! A Halloween themed selection of goodies!

To enter to win this prize please follow my blog and leave a comment below with a way for me to get in touch with you if you win! The winner will be chosen at random on Monday - be sure to check back! If I reach 100 followers over the weekend I will be posting another giveaway on Monday as well!

Just 4 You Birthday Card

Hi everyone! Today I finished a card for Emma's challenge this week at My Creative Time . For this Throwback Thursday our task was to create a shaped card using the Create a Critter cartridge and the colour orange. I decided to make gift bag cut. I adhered two together on the sides to make an envelope, then made it so the "tissue" part slides in and out as the card. I then cut out the "Just 4 You" and the kitty with the hat, all from Create a Critter as well.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you like my project!

Hannah Montana Birthday Cake!

Hi everyone, I thought I would share the Hannah Montana cake I made for my daughter who just turned 7 years old! I used my Cricut Cake machine with the Hannah Montana cartridge to cut out all of the fondant shapes. Even the stars attached to the wire are made of fondant! She was so excited about it, and so was I! It was my first tiered cake and I love how it turned out! I am entering this in the challenge this week at Fantabulous Cricut where the task was to create something "delicious" using a cricut cut somewhere on your project.
