Father's Day Card

I created this card for the My Pink Stamper challenge hoping I can win a Cricut Expression - pretty good prize eh? My six year old is pretty sure she needs one of her own - not too sure about that :-)
The cricut cartridges I used were Animal Kingdom for the moose, Give a Hoot for the grass and Lyrical Letters for the letters (I welded "for you" together with my gypsy.
For this challenge I was originally intending to enter a "dad" word book to give my husband with pictures of the kids. I started making it, but upon further consideration I decided not enter it in the challenge because in the rules it stated that it had to be an original idea and I got the idea from one of Robyn's videos. So I decided to make this card for my own Dad instead. Once I complete the word book I will post it though for your enjoyment - it is looking really good!

Wedding Card

Here is a wedding card I made using the Wedding Solutions cartridge. There are some really pretty images on this cartridge which I bought with my wedding and my siblings' weddings in mind - I haven't used it much though so I am going to have to get with it! I have A LOT of scrapbooking to do!!! This card was made for the Cricut Cardz Challenge this week which was to use brads or eyelets in your project. I used white bitty brads for the buttons on the back of her dress and black eyelets in the corners. Hope you like it!

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #11

For this challenge we were asked to create a project using at least three flowers. I cut out three flowers using the Sweet Treats cartridge and started thinking about how to incorporate them on a card then changed my mind. I have not been doing much scrapbooking lately and decided to get a layout done tonight. The flowers as stated above are from the Sweet Treats cartridge and the title "My Sweeties" is made from the Jubilee cartridge and welded together with my gypsy. Hope you like it!

Cricut Cookies!

Today I made sugar cookies with my Cricut Cake machine! It was fun, but I gotta say it takes a bit too much time for me, maybe I'll stick to cake. It would have been better if I had used a few mats instead of just one. If I just cut the cookie dough and left it iced with just icing, it would have saved a lot of time too! But nevertheless, I did have a lot of fun doing it and had no problems cutting the dough as long as I had it in the freezer for about 10 minutes before cutting. Hope you like my creations!

Stamped Background

I made this card for the Heart 2 Heart challenge this week which was to stamp your background. I used CTMH stamp sets "Love is in the Air" for the flowers and flourishes and "Piece of Cake" for the Happy Birthday sentiment. The paper is from the "Topstitch" line also by CTMH. I stamped the background on colonial white cardstock using Blush and Chocolate ink. I used glossy accents to adhere the clear button (also CTMH) to patterned paper then trimmed around with an xacto knife. I stamped an extra flower in Crystal Blue and attached it with a foam square to give it dimension. I realized after I finished that the blue and pink that coordinate with the paper pack is not what I used - it should have been Baby Pink and Heavenly Blue, but I still think it looks fine! Hope you like my creation!

For You Owl Card

I created this card for a challenge over at the Cricut Cardz challenge blog.
The owl I used came from the Give a Hoot cartridge. The leaf border is from Lyrical Letters and I welded the two together on my Gypsy (which by the way is my new favorite toy - sooooo much fun!!!) The "For You" sentiment is from Gypsy Wanderings. One down side to the Gypsy is that once you prepare your mat and save it for later, if you have a bad memory like me, you have a hard time remembering which cartridges you used for each individual image.
I added some googly eyes after and think it made the owl look so much cuter - and I love cutesy! Hope you like my card!
Please take a look at my other creations and perhaps even follow my blog!
Have a great day!

Boxed note card set

Hi everyone! For this weeks Fantabulous Cricut challenge the task was to create a 3D project featuring the colour black. I chose to make this cute little set of three cards and a little box to put them in. The box was cut using Wild Card, the bicycle is from Stretch Your Imagination and the flowers and butterflies are from Gypsy Wanderings. The cards are all 3X3 in size. Another fun project!

Fantabulous Cricut Crawl Challenge

For this challenge over at fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com each DT member added one element for the participants to incorporate into a project. The grand prize is to be awarded to the best project using the most chosen elements. There were 11 in total and in my layout I used all but the glass etching.
The elements I used were:
accordian flower
journalling spot - from Storybook
embossing on cricut cut - used cuttlebug folder on the J bookmark - from Locker Talk
using negative image - large apple as page frame
gypsy - used to arrange the flowers I drew with the cricut markers
use shadow feature - on journalling spot
cricut markers - created flowered paper for accordian flower and photo mat
inking on die cuts - bookmark
paper piecing - bookmark and 1st grade title and flower on top of accordian flower
food cut - the large apple framing the page
Hope you like my project, I would have added more projects for the individual prizes but I ran out of time!!!

Pink Stamper Colour Challenge

This week Robyn had a challenge on her blog which required us to create a project using the colours green, brown and yellow. Once again I used my new favorite cartridge "Create A Critter"! Don't you just love my little turtle's googly eyes? He's the cutest!

My First Cricut Cake!!!

My new Cricut Cake arrived in the mail - an anniversary present from my wonderful husband. Aren't I lucky? I couldn't wait to try it out! I baked a two-layer cake last night and iced it with buttercream icing. In the morning I looked up a recipe for marshmallow fondant and didn't realize I would have to refrigerate it for awhile before I put it on the the cake so that delayed my plans for awhile.
After supper I rolled out the fondant and put it on the cake - I never thought it would be so easy to do!

For the decorations I used the precoloured rolled fondant by Wilton that came with the machine bundle. It took a bit of trial and error but I think it turned out alright - with practice I'm sure I'll get better! I had to roll the fondant pretty thin, then after it was cut put it in the freezer for a few seconds to make it a little sturdier to transfer to the cake.

I had so much fun and can't wait to try some more! I think sugar cookies would be a lot of fun!

Teacher Notebook

Hi everyone! Here is a project I made for the Fantabulous Cricut challenge this week. The task was to complete a project for a teacher which had an apple on it. I created this notebook with my bind-it-all, a cereal box trimmed for the covers and note paper trimmed to size (which is 3X5"). The cartridges I used were Doodlecharms for the apple and Base Camp for the black frame. Hope she likes it!

My Pink Stamper NSD #12

For this last challenge I was supposed to create a project with a critter on it. Well, to me that just called for the Create a Critter cartridge. This cartridge is amazing you guys. Every little animal is just so stinkin' cute, they just put a smile on your face. And it seems like they are so easy to layer on this cartridge, definitely an improvement over some of the older carts. Anyway, hope you like my squirrel - what a cutie!
Woo hoo! I am finished the Pink Stamper challenges, I had so much fun! I want to thank Robyn so much for hosting these amazing challenges! Can't wait to do more! Omigosh, you should see how incredibly MESSY my craft space is right now. I would post a photo but I'm way too embarassed. I don't think I put away anything that I used today lol.

My Pink Stamper NSD #11

For this challenge we had to create a project using the colours of the rainbow. I tried out my brayer for the first time to make the background on glossy cardstock, then used the Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge for the kitty shape and Plantin Schoolbook for the grass trim. Hope you like it!

My Pink Stamper NSD #10

For for this challenge we had to create something spring themed or with flowers. I created this little purse with the Once Upon a Princess cartridge and filled it with basket grass and prima flowers.

My Pink Stamper NSD # 9

Still going here with these challenges, still hoping I can get them done before bed, if not I am glad we have until tomorrow night to finish! For this challenge we were asked to create a shaped project so I used my Design Studio to create this Lightning McQueen card for my nephew for his 3rd birthday on Saturday, I think he will love it! The cartridges I used are Cars and Don Juan. Thanks for looking!

My Pink Stamper NSD #8

For this challenge we had to create a monochromatic project (one main colour with one neutral colour. I love this!! The flower I used is one of my homemade satin lollipop flowers. Hope you like it! Please come back to check out my last four entries in the Pink Stamper series!

My Pink Stamper NSD # 7

Here is my take on the challenge over at the My Pink Stamper website. For this task we were supposed to create a project for our Dad! I made a card that I will give my dad for Father's Day next month. The cartridges I used were Give a Hoot and Base Camp. Hope you like it!

My Pink Stamper NSD #6

Well, I'm back and trying to get the rest of these challenges done! For this task we had to create something with or for a child. My princess has been asking me to make this magic wand for her ever since I got the "Once Upon a Princess" cartridge. She has been also been really wanting to make the 3-D castle but hmmmm not today sweetie :-) It goes together so nicely, but as I am typing this, I look down and realize there are two pieces I forgot to add to the bottom of the wand stick. Whoops!!

My Pink Stamper NSD #5

Here is challenge number 5 - so much for all the challenges getting done today - I still have 7 to go lol. I might do one more before bed, depends on how good baby is for me. The challenge was to create a project for teacher appreciation day. Jenae has a wonderful teacher who I made a card for. The cartridges I used were Locker Talk, Create a Critter and Base Camp. I also used the Design Studio to weld the letters in "teacher" together. I wasn't sure I liked the card until I added the little apple - the CC cartridge is a life-saver!

My Pink Stamper NSD #4

Here is my entry for the fourth challenge on the My Pink Stamper blog. The challenge was to use the Cricut cartridge that you like the least or use the least. For me, I couldn't choose one I didn't like - I love them all in one way or another! However, there are some I rarely use or have never used! I bought the "From My Kitchen" cartridge about six months ago and this is the first time I have taken it out of the box! I decided to make a Cake - making party invitation for when I get my Cricut Cake! Hope you like it!

My Pink Stamper NSD #3

For challenge number three I had to create a project using something that I would not normally use. I chose to scrapbook Jenae's trip to Build A Bear for her 4th birthday. In the layout I used tags from the bear's clothing and cut the hanger and glued them to the layout. Hope you like it! Isn't my little girl the sweetest?

My Pink Stamper NSD #2

Here is my take on the second challenge, which was using your scrap paper. Not a difficult task for me since I have so much variety. I used my "Create a Critter" cartridge to make this adorable monkey. Isn't it the cutest? LOVE that cartridge!

Pink Stamper NSD #1

Here is my first challenge entry. I had to create a card or project with my mom in mind. I know I have made a Mother's Day card for her already, so I will put this one away for her for her birthday! For this card I used the "Walk in My Garden" cartridge and ran the card and envelope through the cuttlebug. Enjoy!!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

Hope everyone is having a great day! Since I couldn't get away to a crop this weekend, I decided to bring the crop home! I am trying to participate in a bunch of scrapbooking/card-making challenges this weekend. I am off to a slow start though because I had to hit the scrapbooking store sales! I may have went a little overboard, that is all I am going to say. Ok a lot overboard - I guess that is why they have sales right? Well, the more money you spend, the more you save! I'll tell my husband that. I better get busy! Stay tuned for a bunch of challenge posts from me!
