#85 Dinosaur Tracks - Dinosaur Hunt Mini Album

Hi everyone! Today I have for you a dinosaur mini album I have been working on for my son. There is a new dinosaur park near where I live called Jurassic Forest and I can't wait to check it out with my family! I made this mini for all the pictures I take there of my son! Yep that's right, I make projects ahead of time for photos, yet am sooooo far behind on scrapbooking photos I have already taken LOL.

I created this for one of the Cricut Circle Magazine challenges this month. The challenge is to create a project using the Cricut machine and products by one of their sponsors, Imaginisce. This was quite easy for me since I LOVE this company and had a few of their lines in my stash to choose from. The paper collection I chose to use is called Dino-Roar. For my book, I used mainly the Dinosaur Tracks cartridge. The book shape is made from one of the fossil shapes cut at 4.5". All of the bases for the pages were cut from cereal boxes that I have been saving - they sure come in handy on projects to use in the place of chipboard! I find them super easy to cut with the Cricut too! (Blade Depth 6, Pressure 5, Multi-cut 2 with regular blade)
The footprints are from a fossil cut as well, cut at 4.5".
The T-Rex was cut at 3", first from cereal box, then cardstock layers to give it some extra sturdiness. He is attached to the cover with foam squares.
On the front cover, the Imaginisce products used are:

For my next pages, I made pockets from patterned paper. The tags are circles cut from George and Basic Shapes at 3" (inner circle is 2.5"). I added a cardstock tab and some green Fab Brads by Imaginisce. On the back I added some dinosaur fossils from the Dinosaur Tracks cartridge, all sized differently to fit in the 3" circle.

On these pages I added a photo mat and some of the Denim Stickers.

On these pages I added a photo mat to the left page. The dinosaur, from Dinosaur Tracks, is cut at 2" and adhered to the page with foam squares.

The tag is cut from Fabulous Finds at 2". To the tag I added some of the dinosaur ribbon and a rub-on saying (both from the Dino-Roar collection).

The journalling stamp is also by Imaginisce.

The tags on these pages were cut from Picturesque at 3". I added dinosaur ribbon, decorative staples, buttons, Dino-Roar rub-ons, and Dino-Roar denim stickers. The green pattern on the front of the tag is actually cut from the packaging of the Denim stickers. The strip to hold the tag in is one of the Dino-Roar adhesive strip borders with the backing left on.

The dinosaur on these pages, also from Dinosaur Tracks, is cut at 2.5" and adhered to the page with foam squares.

I used the journalling stamp again as well as the "Stomp Stomp" Dino-Roar rub-on.

The photo mat on the opposite page is cut from Once Upon a Princess at 3.25". On these pages I also used adhesive strip borders, some buttons from my stash and paper yarn from my stash.

On the back, I made a border from on the the patterned papers, as well as an accordian folded strip for photos. The dinosaur, from Dinosaur Tracks, is cut at 2.5" and adhered with foam squares. I also added some of the Dino-Roar rub-ons to each side. Before attaching the photo folder, I put some of the dinosaur ribbon around it and tied it shut.

Cricut Fifth Anniversay Challenge Entries

Hi everyone! Since today was the last day for submissions for the Cricut Fifth Anniversary Challenge, I thought I would share my entries with you. Of all the entries received, Jinger will be choosing 5 to receive the new Cricut Expression 2 machine being launched on HSN in the U.S. Wish me luck!

For the princess theme layout I used the Once Upon a Princess cartridge.

For the shark layout, I used the Birthday Bash cartridge.

#67 Bloom - Sweetheart

Hi everyone! Here is a layout I created of my Sweet heart daughter Jenae. The challenge this week at the Cricut Circle blog was to create something using handmade flowers.

The flowers on my layout were made using the scalloped circle cut from the Bloom Lite cartridge. I cut them from patterned paper, spritz them with water, then accordian folded around the edge, forming a point in the middle. I then flattened the flower and glued it to a paper circle. The top layer and leaves are by Prima.

I also used the Once Upon a Princess cartridge for the "Sweetheart" title and used the font from that cartridge for "Spring 2010"/

#13 Once Upon A Princess - Gift Bag

Hi everyone! Here is a gift bag I created for the latest Wednesday Challenge at More than Favors. I love challenges like this because I think the Cricut gift bags are so fun to put together! The cartridge I used for this project is Once Upon a Princess. The bag was cut at 10" (using a 12" X 24" cutting mat). The little girl and her outfit were cut at 5". The "Sweetheart" word was cut at 1.85" (used the Gypsy for the sizing).

The bag was cut from white cardstock then I randomly stamped it with 2 images from the CTMH stamp set "Color My World".

I used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder to give a little extra detail to her pants, the hearts on her clothes and the heart on the word.

All stitching was drawn with Stampin' Write markers by Stampin' Up!.

The face stamp is from the Princess Face Assortment by Peachy Keen Stamps.

Gingerbread Gift Bag

Hi everyone! This is a gift bag that I made for the monthly Cricut Circle Magazine challenge. We were asked to create and decorate a gift bag using at least 4 Cricut cuts and incorporate something from one of the magazine cartridges.

The bag was cut from the Once Upon a Princess cartridge at 11.5" using a 12X24" mat. I used the gypsy and moved the bag down on the screen to cut out the red patterned border at the top of the bag.

The aprons are from Everyday Paper Dolls. I used my Gypsy to hide the pocket so I could make my own.

The heart on the apron is from Create a Critter. I applied adhesive only along the bottom edges to form a pocket for the gingerbread couple. I used the I-Rock by Imaginisce to attached the I-Rock metal bling accents around the hearts.

The gingerbread girl and boy are from Paper Doll Dress Up. I cut one set in brown, then hid all of the features on the Gypsy and cut one set from red for the hearts to show through, then one set in magnetic material so they can be used for fridge magnets! After cutting out the brown pieces, I traced over all of the detail lines with Liquid Applique. That stuff is really neat. You put it on, then let it dry for a while then use your heat gun on it. It puffs up! So it really looks a lot like icing! The magnetic material was cut with my deep-cut blade with the settings at - Blade:6 Depth:5 Multi-Cut:3

I printed a sheet of candy cane patterned paper with my Imagine using the Mr. Frosty cartridge. I cut out 8 of the candy cane hearts and glued them to the sides of the bags, then added some I-Rock jewels with my I-Rock.

I used the I-Top Brad Maker to make four patterned paper brads for the front and back of the bag.

I scanned the same patterned paper and printed it onto white tissue paper for the inside of the bag.

I braided red, white and green ribbons for the bag handles.

I put my gingerbread magnets in their apron pockets.

Both patterned papers are from the DCWV "'Tis the Season" Stack.

My New Cricut Cartridge Storage System

Hi everyone! I haven't got much crafting done lately, I have been organizing my Cricut cartridges! I ran out of room on my shelf and keep buying more so I figured it was time for a change. I found a lot of great tips on the Cricut messageboard and on youtube. I decided to remove all of the books, overlays and cartridges from their packaging and store them using a file system. It was a lot of work! I bought some Iris plastic stacking drawers from Bed Bath and Beyond. I couldn't believe how perfect the dimensions of the drawers were! To make the file folders I scanned the back of each cartridge box and resized it in Microsoft Word to fit. I made the green tabs with the From My Kitchen cartridge. Once I had the folders together I laminated them with my YourStory machine. I decided to make little boxes for my cartridges to protect them. I used a bag cut from Once Upon a Princess and altered it with my Gypsy to fit.

I think I am really going to like this new system - it just seems so much easier to find the cartridge I want! I have put all of the cartridge boxes in a large rubbermaid in the storage room so they are there in case I ever change my mind. I tend to do that once in a while ;-)

Showers of Love for Baby

This is a project I made for the Cuttlebug Challenges Blog #79. It was to be a baby shower inspired project so I made this cute little giftbag - the first one I have ever made! First, I cut out the gift bag with my cricut using the "Once Upon a Princess" cartridge. I ran the unfolded piece through my cuttlebug using the swiss dots embossing folder. Then I folded the bag and attached a brown paper strip around it. I cut out and embossed the butterfly using a cuttlebug combo folder. Then I cut out the footprints and the Little One words using the "New Arrival" cricut cartridge. I added ribbon for the handles, put in some tissue paper and voila! - a cute little gift bag!
