#136 Speaking of Fall - Nature Lovers

Hi everyone! Here is a layout I created for the monthly challenge at the Cricut Circle Blog. The challenge was to create a project featuring our favorite thing about fall. I decided to go with leaves! I love the colours of fall leaves and crunching sound they make under your feet.

We also had to add some texture to our projects. First, I stamped on ivory cardstock with versamark using the Tim Holtz leaves stamps in a random pattern all over the cardstock. I then heat embossed the stamped images with clear embossing powder. Next, I used Tim Holtz Distress inks and foam applicator tools to apply several different colours to the background. I had a lot of fun with this process!

The Cricut cartridges / cuts I used on my layout are:

Give a Hoot - Tree (cut at 4.25"), "Nature Lovers" cut at 3.75", Squirrel (cut at 2.25")

Cindy Loo - Blessings (Cut at 1.75")

Speaking of Fall - Leaves (cut at 1.81")

Don Juan - 2010 (cut at 1.13")

I stamped over the squirrel with Perfect Medium using a background stamp by Stampin' Up. I then added gold Perfect Pearls and set it by misting with water.

#70 Jubilee - Love This Kid

Hi everyone! I don't know about you but I am lovin' this spring weather - finally! My kids and I have been spending more time outdoors and my posts have been slowing down a bit. I have some catching up to do!

Here is a layout that I created for the latest weekly challenge at the Cricut Circle Blog. The task was to create a layout about "mom & me". I couldn't find any unscrapped photos of me and my mom so I chose this photo of my son Drew and I on his first day of Preschool. Love this photo - he looks sooooo excited!

On my layout I used three cartridges:

Jubilee - "Love This Kid" (cut at 2.5"), journaling spot (cut at 3.25")

Give a Hoot - Photo Frame (cut at 4.75" wide), border (cut at 0.75"), flowers (cut at 3.5").

Create a Critter - Sqirrels (cut at 3" and 2" - smaller one flipped)

I used the "Mommy and Me" paper line by Prima. The squirrels on the paper are almost identical to the one on Create a Critter. Cute, cute, cute!

#51 Wildlife - Deer Hunt

Hi everyone! The weekly challenge at the Cricut Circle blog this week was a "Guy Stuff Challenge".

The Challenge: Incorporate at least three of the following types of materials on your project. (Hardware items, stars, raw cardboard or chipboard, twine, string, paint, buttons, staples, or distressed edges)

I rarely do masculine layouts. They always seem to be the last in line when I am chosing which projects to do, so this was a really good challenge for me! I chose to do a layout of my hubby's deer hunting.

The cartridges/cuts I used are:

Wildlife - Deer cut at 3 3/4" and title cut at 4"

Give A Hoot - leaf charm cut at 2"

For the challenge items I used staples to attach the twine, raw cardboard for the top layer of the charm, buttons as accents, and used ink to distress the edges of the deer cut.

#22 Give a Hoot - Keep it Clean

Hi everyone! Here is my entry for the Flaunt it Fridays Challenge. The task was to create a project using the bear in the trash can from the Give a Hoot cartridge.

I chose to make this frame for my little girl who seems to have to clean her room an awful lot!

I cut the bear at 5". I even dig into my stash - WAAAAAAYYYYY into my stash to find the "fur" patterned paper (by Provo Craft).

"Keep it Clean" was cut at 2 1/2".

The background patterned paper is by DCWV.

The frame was a plain wooden one from Michaels that I painted with pink paint, then stamped with black paint using the swirl fropm the Baroque Motifs stamp set by Stampin`Up!

A Sympathy Card

Hi everyone! This is one type of card, that I do not have any of in my stash. Guess I just don't want to have a use for it. For this card I used a butterfly stamp from a Hero Arts set that I own. The Cuttlebug embossing folder I used was Victoria. For the flowers on the corner I used the Give a Hoot Cricut cartridge. The challenges I am entering this card in are:

Hopefully I can get some more projects finished today. However, the project I really need to be working on is cleaning my craft room!!!!! Just can't seem to get that done, I'd much rather be creating! Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

Bon Voyage card

Hi everyone! I made this card for the challenge this week over at the Cricut Cardz Challenge Blog - http://cricutcardzchallenge.blogspot.com/

The challenge was to create a vacation themed card. This was my entry. I used the Gypsy Wanderings for the boat, Give a Hoot for the waves and Cake Basics for the "Bon Voyage" sentiment. Hope you like it!

Father's Day Card

I created this card for the My Pink Stamper challenge hoping I can win a Cricut Expression - pretty good prize eh? My six year old is pretty sure she needs one of her own - not too sure about that :-)
The cricut cartridges I used were Animal Kingdom for the moose, Give a Hoot for the grass and Lyrical Letters for the letters (I welded "for you" together with my gypsy.
For this challenge I was originally intending to enter a "dad" word book to give my husband with pictures of the kids. I started making it, but upon further consideration I decided not enter it in the challenge because in the rules it stated that it had to be an original idea and I got the idea from one of Robyn's videos. So I decided to make this card for my own Dad instead. Once I complete the word book I will post it though for your enjoyment - it is looking really good!

For You Owl Card

I created this card for a challenge over at the Cricut Cardz challenge blog.
The owl I used came from the Give a Hoot cartridge. The leaf border is from Lyrical Letters and I welded the two together on my Gypsy (which by the way is my new favorite toy - sooooo much fun!!!) The "For You" sentiment is from Gypsy Wanderings. One down side to the Gypsy is that once you prepare your mat and save it for later, if you have a bad memory like me, you have a hard time remembering which cartridges you used for each individual image.
I added some googly eyes after and think it made the owl look so much cuter - and I love cutesy! Hope you like my card!

My Pink Stamper NSD # 7

Here is my take on the challenge over at the My Pink Stamper website. For this task we were supposed to create a project for our Dad! I made a card that I will give my dad for Father's Day next month. The cartridges I used were Give a Hoot and Base Camp. Hope you like it!
