Hannah Montana Birthday Cake!

Hi everyone, I thought I would share the Hannah Montana cake I made for my daughter who just turned 7 years old! I used my Cricut Cake machine with the Hannah Montana cartridge to cut out all of the fondant shapes. Even the stars attached to the wire are made of fondant! She was so excited about it, and so was I! It was my first tiered cake and I love how it turned out! I am entering this in the challenge this week at Fantabulous Cricut where the task was to create something "delicious" using a cricut cut somewhere on your project.

Happy Birthday Drew!

Hi! It's my son Drew's 3rd birthday today! We had his birthday party yesterday and it was so much fun! I thought I would share my crafty party decor creations with you! Drew is a Cars fanatic so I put my Cars cricut cartridge to a lot of good use! I made the cake using my Cricut Cake machine. I cut out a huge Lightning McQueen to put on the wall using a 12X24 mat and the cardstock in that same size (it cut out at 11.5 inches!) The treat bags are paper bags with the front and back covered with cardstock. I used my gypsy to place the rectangle in the right place for the handle, the cut outs on the bags are also from the Cars cartridge. I had so much fun making everything! My sister Leila asked me where I found the time with 3 kids to do it, and I said "at 2:00 in the morning" so I got to bed early last night for a good sleep for the first time in a few days!

Cricut Cookies!

Today I made sugar cookies with my Cricut Cake machine! It was fun, but I gotta say it takes a bit too much time for me, maybe I'll stick to cake. It would have been better if I had used a few mats instead of just one. If I just cut the cookie dough and left it iced with just icing, it would have saved a lot of time too! But nevertheless, I did have a lot of fun doing it and had no problems cutting the dough as long as I had it in the freezer for about 10 minutes before cutting. Hope you like my creations!

My First Cricut Cake!!!

My new Cricut Cake arrived in the mail - an anniversary present from my wonderful husband. Aren't I lucky? I couldn't wait to try it out! I baked a two-layer cake last night and iced it with buttercream icing. In the morning I looked up a recipe for marshmallow fondant and didn't realize I would have to refrigerate it for awhile before I put it on the the cake so that delayed my plans for awhile.
After supper I rolled out the fondant and put it on the cake - I never thought it would be so easy to do!

For the decorations I used the precoloured rolled fondant by Wilton that came with the machine bundle. It took a bit of trial and error but I think it turned out alright - with practice I'm sure I'll get better! I had to roll the fondant pretty thin, then after it was cut put it in the freezer for a few seconds to make it a little sturdier to transfer to the cake.

I had so much fun and can't wait to try some more! I think sugar cookies would be a lot of fun!
