#62 From My Kitchen - Valentine Cookies Layout

Hi everyone! This week the Cricut Cartridge Chaos challenge is to use the From My Kitchen cartridge on a project. I was so excited when this cartridge came out, thinking of all the fun layouts I could do of photos of me and the kids in the kitchen, an bought it right away. Well, it has been well over a year and this is the first time I have ever used it for a layout! And it was a lot of fun to make too (even though I got into a fight with the white liquid enamel accents that I put on the oven).

I love these photos of my little girl Jenae helping me bake sugar cookie for her class on Valentine's Day in 2010. She's a great helper!

The oven was cut at 4".

The apron was cut at 4".

The oven mitt was cut at 3.25".

The flipper and rolling pin were cut at 2.5".

The word in the ovals were cut at 1.5".

A Yummy Holiday Gift

Hi everyone! I made this cute gift bag and recipe to hold a yummy scone mix (which I actually did make and put in the bag!) to give as a gift to someone during the holidays. Sorry about the photo quality - my camera died today! R.I.P. my first digital camera - you will be greatly missed - especially now that I have to turn to this sub-par one! Maybe Santa will hear my plea :-)

I created this for two challenges.

First, the challenge at the Cricut Circle blog this week was to create a holiday recipe project featuring at least two Cricut cuts. For my gift bag and recipe I used From My Kitchen for the oven mitt, the recipe card and tab. I used Lacy Labels for the scalloped oval.

The second challenge I entered this in is at Peachy Keen Stamps Challenges for the Let's Face it Friday challenge. They asked us to create a project using a paper bag! Also we needed to use one of our Peachy Keen face stamps. I chose the largest from the Basic Paper Doll Face Assortment set. These little faces just add so much personality to your projects! If you don't have any, you should definitely check them out!

All patterned paper used is from "Tis the Season" by DCWV.

Cardstock and library clip are from Stampin' Up.

Scalloped border punch is by EK Success.

Hey Cupcake!

Hi everyone! I was crazy busy last week and could not get an entry finished for Emma's Throwback Thursday challenge at My Creative Time. Since she was busy too, she extended the challenge another week! The challenge was to create a project that was food related using the From My Kitchen cartridge. I have this cartridge and have not really fallen in love with it - even though I thought I must have it when I bought it. Well, I just LOVE this cupcake from it so it has hope! I used a variety of scrap papers from my stash. The cherry was glittered with cinnabar MS glitter. I used cotton candy and stardust Stickles on the frosting. The green glitter marker around the edges is by Martha Stewart. The font for "Hey Cupcake" is from Elmo's Party (more to come from this cartridge - my Jacob's 1st birthday is next week!)

My New Cricut Cartridge Storage System

Hi everyone! I haven't got much crafting done lately, I have been organizing my Cricut cartridges! I ran out of room on my shelf and keep buying more so I figured it was time for a change. I found a lot of great tips on the Cricut messageboard and on youtube. I decided to remove all of the books, overlays and cartridges from their packaging and store them using a file system. It was a lot of work! I bought some Iris plastic stacking drawers from Bed Bath and Beyond. I couldn't believe how perfect the dimensions of the drawers were! To make the file folders I scanned the back of each cartridge box and resized it in Microsoft Word to fit. I made the green tabs with the From My Kitchen cartridge. Once I had the folders together I laminated them with my YourStory machine. I decided to make little boxes for my cartridges to protect them. I used a bag cut from Once Upon a Princess and altered it with my Gypsy to fit.

I think I am really going to like this new system - it just seems so much easier to find the cartridge I want! I have put all of the cartridge boxes in a large rubbermaid in the storage room so they are there in case I ever change my mind. I tend to do that once in a while ;-)

My Pink Stamper NSD #4

Here is my entry for the fourth challenge on the My Pink Stamper blog. The challenge was to use the Cricut cartridge that you like the least or use the least. For me, I couldn't choose one I didn't like - I love them all in one way or another! However, there are some I rarely use or have never used! I bought the "From My Kitchen" cartridge about six months ago and this is the first time I have taken it out of the box! I decided to make a Cake - making party invitation for when I get my Cricut Cake! Hope you like it!
